Important Rules
EU Student
As an EU student you are free to do any internships in the Netherlands. Keep in mind that, if the internship is part of your studies, a tri-party agreement between you, your internship host and your educational institution might need to be signed.
Non-EU Student
As a non-EU student, you will have restrictions when it comes to doing an internship in the Netherlands.
- If the internship is part of your studies and you will get credits for it, then you can work without a work permit. A tri-party agreement will need to be signed between you, your internship host and your educational institution. Make sure all three parties have a copy of this agreement.
- If the internship is not part of your studies your employer will need to apply for a work permit before you are allowed to work.
