De Singel
De Singel is a Catholic primary school located on the Bonaireplein in Leiden.
Students between the ages of 7 and 12 who do not yet speak Dutch can enter into the Taalklas at De Singel. In 40 weeks they learn enough Dutch to enter a regular group. There are about 15-20 students per class..
The program in this class is aimed at the development of the individual students. They get their own program in which they learn to speak, read and write Dutch at their own pace. Of course, other subjects are also offered, such as math. If they can handle this, they can follow the maths lesson in the regular group that suits their level.
