Statues in Leiden
Courage, hope and perseverance characterise those who stand up against injustice. The new edition of Statues in Leiden focuses on these and other characteristics of resistance.
On 26 November 1940, Professor Rudolph Cleveringa spoke out against injustice. His courage inspires Knowledge of the Heart, the thirteenth edition of Statues in Leiden, in which seven emerging artists explore the power of resistance.
Their sculptures and installations invite reflection and dialogue. Statues in Leiden offers them a platform and thus strengthens Dutch sculpture.
