Travelling through a prehistoric landscape.

They are the oldest man-made monuments in the world: Taş Tepeler, the collective name for fifteen archaeological hills in Southeastern Turkey around the city of Şanlıurfa. The remains of enormous buildings, erected between 9500 and 7000 BC, have been found in the hills. These traces paint a very different picture of the prehistory of the Middle East from the one that is normally assumed. Journalists Joost Vermeulen and Servaas Neijens travelled through the area, capturing the idyllic hilly landscapes and unique structures. In this small photo exhibition, they take you on a tour of the highlights of Taş Tepeler.

The photo exhibition can be seen in the space behind the Egyptian temple in the museum entrance hall, free of charge.
