Learning Dutch is an essential step towards settling in the Netherlands and building a career here. Find out how you can support your international employees with subsidised language courses.

Dutch for Expats in the Business and Scientific Community in Leiden (in conjuction with BioPartner)

Learning Dutch is an essential step towards settling in the Netherlands and building a career here. Two years ago we started running Dutch evening courses specifically for international employees associated with the Bio Science Park. Participants learn Dutch in small groups while networking and socialising with other like-minded people and really look forward to the weekly lessons as most of them are working from home and have very little social contact at the moment. The courses run currently via Zoom and we hope to move back to face-2-face in September.

Some feedback from current students:

“The perfect way and atmosphere to learn a new language”

“I now feel confident to develop my Dutch away from a classroom environment and feel much more comfortable in Holland”

“I look forward to my weekly lessons, we have a lot of fun!”

Tel Mee Met Taal (TMMT) 2021 Employer subsidy for Dutch training

Help your international staff learn Dutch! Tel Mee Met Taal (TMMT) offers up to €1000 subsidy per person for Dutch training (or a maximum of  €125,000 per organisation). The next application window opens in June 2021 and the subsidy can be used for Dutch courses starting between now and mid-2022.

TMMT is often oversubscribed so you should start planning now to submit your application when the window opens. That’s where The Square Mile can help as we have helped a number of organisations through the application process.
