Youth book Collection for the Temple Talents Centre in Uganda

| Leiden International Centre

The Voorschoten-Wassenaar Library and the Zula Kids Project are collecting English children’s and youth books throughout the month of September for the Temple Talents Centre in Uganda. Bring your books to the library!

This initiative is being carried out by two brothers from Voorschoten, Zuilu (14) and Alula (12) who started the Zula Kids Project during COVID-19. Their love for collecting could be seen early on when they had also collected sport supplies for a project in Ethiopia via Voorschoten ’97.

This time, they are working with the Temple Talents Centre in Uganda, which is an organisation that focuses on guiding children aged 7-17 that have been affected by wars around them. This is done through music, art, computer classes, and of course through reading.

The Voorschoten-Wassenaar library will be collecting English children’s and youth books throughout the month of September for kids between the ages of 7-17. Everyone is also welcome to the Voorschoten library on October 1st where these books will be handed over to the brothers from the Zula Kids Project. Here they will also give a speech and explanation about their project. More information can be found on the library’s website (Dutch).
