X New Year's Dance Party Ft. Banda Carumba
To start 2024 in a nice and festive way, De X organises a dance party, featuring the local ‘tropical’ group Banda Carumba, deejays, bubbles and small snacks.
Banda Carumba was born in Leiden at the end of 2020 and is playing a festive mix of different styles: rumba, Catalan, Mediterranean, reggae, Latin, you name it. In 2022 and 2023 they played Oerol and for example they also played Museumnacht in Leiden last year. Banda Carumba houses many years of Leiden's music history, with musicians who have made their musical mark in bands such as TT Togs, Biguine Balade, Toy Factory, Gratis Bier, Les Zazous, Klavan Gadje and Helter Skelter, just to name a few. With three percussionists, two wind instruments, double bass, guitar, accordion and vocals, this band knows how to get hips moving everywhere.
