The current and future demand for talent at the Leiden Bio Science Park exceeds the supply. How can we increase the influx of the new generation of lab technicians, scientists and other Life Science professionals?

Increasing the participation of students and interesting new generations for Life Sciences is listed as one of the main action Lines in the Human Capital agenda of the Leiden Bio Science Park

While the demand for talent at the park is ever-increasing, unfortunately less and less children in secondary schools are choosing scientific profiles and pursue an education and future career in a technical or Life Sciences profession. Furthermore, students with relevant educations at all levels don’t necessarily find a position at the park. This group also contains untapped potential, many talented students would be interested in a fitting side-job at the Bio Science Park. Fortunately, there are several initiatives aiming to bring children and students in contact with Science and companies at the LBSP. Their success however is also dependent on their collaboration and support.
