In 2000, the Emperor of Japan and his wife visited the SieboldHuis during a state visit to the Netherlands. To commemorate this visit and his walking tour on the Rapenburg with Queen Beatrix, the Japan Museum SieboldHuis organizes the Japan Market every year.
