On Sunday January 29th the BplusC library organizes a storytelling event for kids between ages 0-6 in light of the yearly National Reading days.

The National Reading days, from the 25th of January to the 4th of February, is a yearly bookfestival centered around storytelling and promotes reading for fun at a young age. Every year, there is a TopTen list of children's books and one overall winner as the ''Prentenboek van het Jaar'' (Children's book of the year), these books will stand central to the organized activities. This year's winner is Joukje Akveld, author of ''Maximiliaan Modderman geeft een feestje'' (Maximiliaan Modderman gives a party), a story about a boy throwing a party for his toy animals.

In light of this, the BplusC library is organizing a ''reading festival'' for kids aged 0 to 6, between 13:00-17:00 on the 29th of January. The event consists of storytelling and reading but also other activities such as face-paint, mask-making, and dance workshops. In addition, there will be various information booths about multilingualism, healthy snacks, and reading out loud. Access to the event will be free, and it will take place at the BplusC library on Nieuwsstraat 4, in Leiden.
